My daughter is fifteen years old and has an absolute fascination with Japanese manga comics. She is interested in beginning to learn japanese over her summer break with a tutor who would consider incorporating manga into some of the lesson planning. The ideal tutor would be willing to discuss japanese youth culture and literature and would be relaxed and patient. My daughter is looking to explore her interests, but probably doesn't want an academically rigorous course just yet. We would be interested in instruction two hours per week from June through September, with an option to continue through the next school year.

I wish to learn japanese purely as a recreational activity. I am a total beginner, without the slightest knowledge of the language. However, I am very interested in japanese culture (Especially their poetry, comics, movies etc.) so I hope that learning the language will help me better understand their culture.
I am looking to improve my speach and reading abilities.
I am willing to dedicate upto 8 hours a week for the lessons, but would be happy to take on fewer hours.
I hope to find an enthusiastic teacher who will help me enjoy the learning of the language rather than make it a dull and monotonous exercise.
