I find German quite similar to my second language - being Afrikaans. I started learning German a year ago, however have found that if I do not use the language daily it does not help with retention. Would like to converse with my fiancé's family who is from Germany.I want to focus on actual conversation, rather than the grammar - I feel this will help in conversing with my new family when I visit and hopefully go live with them in the future. I would like to practice 2-3 times per month. I want my teacher to speak more German in the lessons than English, someone who is patient and willing to repeat several times anything I may have trouble understanding or saying.
