Hello,
Why: I would like to learn to speak Brasilian Portuguese (but happy to learn Portuguese) as my husband is Brasilian and I would like to communicate with our family overseas more effectively.
Proficien cy: From listening to him talk Portuguese to our son, I tend to understand more than I can say. I have had no training whatsoever.
Areas of improvement: My areas of improvement would be in speaking the language primarily, however I would like to read and write as well.
Time: I would like to complete an hour a week at this stage.
Qualities : Patience, competence and humor.

Hi,
My name is Tim. I am a recently graduated Engineer working & living in Geelong.
I want to develop my Vietnamese so I can converse fluently with my family and ultimately so I can work in Vietnam with the company I am currently with, so want to start improving my conversationa l skills.
My Mum is Vietnamese but I am very much a beginner. I understand basic sentences, but struggle to reply in Vietnamese other than in short sentences.
I want to do a private face-to-face session. Within reason, I am willing to travel to Melbourne and want to do a 1-2hour session once a week for 10-12 weeks (possibly more if needed).
I am looking for a tutor that is relaxed, organised and a good communicator. They should also understand the progression required to achieve the level I require.

I have spent the last 7 months living in France and have about six weeks in Perth before I move back to work and live in Brussels. I have learnt some French online and watched French TV to the point of being reasonable at reading French and much better than I can speak or understand it spoken to me. My learning stage would have to be elementary so I would like to get to some reasonable level of conversationa l French before I leave. I have learnt the basics but much of the next level of online learning has been phrases for travelling in France and not conversationa l French for living there. I am looking for some fast track learning and I think a few lessons will get me over that next phase of putting together basic to elementary conversations . I am relatively free to do whatever is possible in 6 weeks. So I'm looking for anyone capable of teaching someone my age with no previous experience learning a new language.
