Description |
I'd like to learn Japanese fluently so that I can move over to Japan within the next couple of years. I'm interested in this also due to the fact that a 2nd language would aid my resume quite a bit. I'll need improvement in all areas as I am only a beginner. I'm looking for personable qualities with helpful hands on skills.

Description |
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Tanya Trinh and I am currently studying in a Bachelor of Medical Science at the Queensland University of Technology in Australia. I will be completing this degree at the end of this year and hope to progress to Medicine next year.
I am a keen and enthusiastic learner and am wanting to learn another language because I have been doing so for a large part of me life (Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese) and wish to consolidate my Japanese skills and pick up a European language. Learning languages is something I find interesting and engaging, and is a favoured past time of mine, especially as a contrast from my degree which is all about science!
I was born in Australia and speak fluent english.
I realise that I may have misinterprete d the 'Language I am Learning' section - I wish to learn these languages, and to start off with, any one of them is fine. I have no experience of the European languages but I have studied Japanese for seven years (primary and highschool Japanese).
In Japanese, my weaknesses are conversation and writing. In the European languages, as I have had no prior experience with them, I would need coaching in all areas.
I can dedicate roughly three hours a week during semester time at uni but more (ie five) during the breaks.
I am looking for private or small group teaching and would appreciate flexibility and understanding in the event that my classes at uni change. Evening classes are also possible. I am looking for an enthusiastic and patient teacher who is able to relate the language to real life contexts as well as formal skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. I would be very interested in teachers who encourage more about their learning ie travel, food, culture etc rather than only the four basic skills.
I thank you for taking the time to read through this advertisement and look forward to your reply.
Sin cerely Yours Miss Tanya Trinh Brisba ne, QLD.

I am studying Japanese in Year 11 at the moment...so I think I am intermediate. I want to continue studying Japanese at University, and I'm thinking of becoming a teacher in the language. I feel I need to get a lot more practise with conversation and grammar. I find it hard at school when we are listening to someone speak in the Japanese, because it's very fast and I'm not used to that. I also need practise with pronunciation and being able to converse well with another person. I would only really need a 1-2 hour lesson per week, because I am studying at school. I would need my teacher to be very patient, and to LOVE teaching Japanese. I don't mind about gender or age, I just want a very good english-speak ing, preferably native Japanese tutor.
