I have learned Japanese for 3 years in college, but it's been about 6 years since then, and I've already forgotten most of it. I can speak, but I'm very limited. I cannot carry a conversation well.
I would like to become more comfortable to conversate in Japanese. I want to become fluent!! I want to be able to speak to my in laws in Japanese.
I have Japanese relatives, but I have difficulty to make conversation. Grammer is also a problem. I also have trouble reading Kanji. I would like to focus for now, on conversation. I can work on reading and writing later.
I would appreciate to have a teacher that does not underestimate me. I attempted to take classes with a previous instructor and I was treated like I had no Japanese knowledge what so ever.

I have taken two semesters of Vietnamese and been to Vietnam twice since 2002. I am learning Vietnamese because I work with recent Vietnamese immigrants to help get them their high school diplomas. I am also very interested in the culture. I need particular help with pronunciation and conversation. I have learned the northern dialect mostly.
I would like to meet once or twice a week for two hours.

I don't know very much Swedish except for a few words. My boyfriend/fut ure husband is Swedish and I really think it is important to know his native language. We will be going to Sweden every summer and I want to be able to at least communicate with his parents and sister. Then I would like to learn how to read and write in Swedish. I would like to dedicate as much time as needed to learn the Swedish language in a timely manner. The qualities I am looking for in a teacher is someone who knows the language very well and is patient and can explain things well. I would like someone nice and someone who is willing to give me lessons on the weekends.
