I am looking for language study for both myself and my 2 junior-school age children. We have bought a holiday home in a village in rural Bulgaria, and I want to be able to communicate with my neighbours.
We are able to visit Bulgaria maybe 6 times a year, and I have picked up a very little of the language through my visits and study books, but I have come to the point where I can't progress without help - and I am finding it a little frustrating when I can't understand my neighbours!
I am also looking to help the children gain some basic language so they feel more at home when we visit. Both children are enthusiastic, but very nervous of learning the language, and have a little experience of learning French at school.
Pr imarily, then, we need conversation skills! I am willing to do some self-study, but I don't think the children will be very successful in this area. I would be intersted in either group lessons or individual tutoring (possibly backed up with on-line support). We live 30 miles west of London, and I work full-time so would be looking at evening or weekends, for tutoring. We could attend a short course sometime. I am looking for a tutor in the UK or Bulgaria.

Well, I'm basically a beginner, however some might say that I am intermediate. I am married to a Bulgarian and wish to learn the language proficiently. I desperately want to communicate with my Mother and Father-in-law without my husband having to translate. Or if I do speak with them, it's a simple: 'Hello, how are you, find, love you, love you too'. They mean so much to me and it kills me that I can't speak their language. I am available most evenings after 6pm my time and on Fridays and weekends anytime. I'm looking for someone with a good sense of humor, but dedicated to staying focused to ensure the proper teaching. You must be patient with me and not get upset when I make a mistake. Please help me so that when I'm in Bulgaria this Christmas I can surprise my Maika and Tatko. 4ao
