My name is Rosetta and I am looking for a well trained, experienced teacher of Somali language offering courses in New York City during summer time: June through August 2008.
I would start with a High Elementary (or Low Intermediate) level and am particularly interested in developing grammar and conversation skills. I am interested in studying Somali for career advancement.
I plan to devote to the course about three hours per week. A course involving a small group of extremely devoted students would be ideal, but I'm also open to teacher-stude nt private lessons. The ideal teacher should be able to allow me to manage the spoken language and grammar knowledge at the elementary/in termediate level after three months.

I am planning to visit Venice with my goddaughter for a week in April (19-28). I'm middle-aged, she will be nine years old. I am proficient in French and good in Spanish; I understand some Italian. She doesn't (yet) know any foreign languages, although she did learn a bit of French when we went to Paris two years ago.
I thought it might be fun for her if we spend a few hours for two or three days 'studying' Italian -- simple phrases, pronunciation , etc. I would love to inspire in her a love of languages and a desire to learn a language in school. I'm looking for someone who is good with children and can make this fun for her.
I am looking for a private tutor, and would need to know rates and availability.
