Hello. I am a caucasion male who is trying to learn the Hindi language. I work in a large organisation where about 75% of my work colleagues are Indians. I want to learn this language because all my Indian work colleagues like to socialise in their native languages (Hindi and Punjabi) at work - this can sometimes make it awkward for me to be around them because I cannot understand them or join in the conversation. I am a beginner. I have already learned some Hindi from my work colleagues and using online learning tools, but I feel that I need intensive one-on-one teaching in order to progress further. I am mainly interested in using the language for everyday conversationa l purposes, however I am prepared to learn the Dev Naagari script if my teacher believes it would be beneficial to my progression in actually being able to speak and understand the language.
I would like to find a Hindi teacher who is patient and who is prepared to teach Hindi slang as well as pure Hindi. I would be able to dedicate perhaps three hours per week (spread over 2 or 3 lessons) to one-on-one lessons.
