My fiance is Bengali- I know nothinng- except I Love You (of course-Ha Ha)I want to learn the language as a surprise to her.
I want to be able to carry on everyday conversations - I have not learned any other language before, I realize this will make it a litle more difficult, but I am willing to do the work.
I get home every day by 6 (CST) so anytime after that is fine.
I will want to start the lessons in September/Oct ober- when she get's very busy at work and we will not be spending as much time together.
Th e teacher must be patient with me- I learn mostly from saying it over and over again and maybe even writing it out.

Hi,
I would like to learn bengali. My boyfriend, who I'm very serious with, is Bengali and he speaks it fluently with his immediate and extended family. Much of his extended family does not speak English. So, I thought while I have the time, it would be a great skill set to have given my situation. I don't know the language at all so I will definitely start as a beginner. I hope to find a teacher who is patient and organized. I know learning languages can be difficult so I really want to find someone who has a strong method to this 'madness', so to speak. I am very serious about learning it and hope to hear from someone soon.

I am a beginner.
I was born in Ebngland but am originally from Bangladesh. My parents are Sylhetti and I know how to speak this dialect a little bit. My main problem I have is that when ever I want to talk to my elders in Bengali (shudho or sylhetti) I freeze up, no words come out of my mouth and what I do say soesnt make sense! I woudl prefer to learn shudho language (Dhakaya) as I wish to be able to speak it fluently. The main reason why I wish to do this is becasue I wish to get closer to my culture and to my family through the use of the language.

Dear Sir or Madam:
I am a fluent Bangla speaker but would like to be completely fluent in reading and writing Bangla. Currently, I am teaching myself through to read and write Bangla books, but that does not seem to be extremely effective since I end up questions that I cannot answer myself. I was taught English and Hindi in school and unfortunately , I onlu learned to speak Bangla.
I would like to be a 100% fluent in my mother tongue and be able to read the partake of its rich literary heritage.
