I don't speak any chinese at all. So I'm basically a beginner. Which is why I have decided to move to Beijing for the next 2 or 3 years. I want to learn both the language and the culture. I know that writing and reading it is close to impossible in that resticted time, but I wish to be able to communicate with the locals by the end of my stay.
I have already done something like this before. So I know what its like being in a country and not speaking the language, and not knowing anyone.
I would expect my teacher to be not only my teacher but possibly a guide. In this country which is completely foreign to me.
Someon e in there twenties would be a plus. I think I would relate better with someone younger. But someone older with experience is also very welcome. After all, my goal is to learn.
I'm willing to dedicate all my time or at least a good amount of it, to learn Mandarin.

I happens to be working in Beijing, China. I am a Malaysian chinese and I am english educated.
I would like to pick up two languages e.g. spanish and french by starting off as a new beginner. Would really appreciate that my tutor is good in areas like grammer and conversation as my job needs to communicate with people in regards to the languages that I am learning. I really need at least 3 times a week with at least 2 hours of tutoring.
