I want to learn Arabic because I have hopes of working for the FBI and it is a very useful language in such field of work. I only know one greeting and how to say thank you, so my proficiency level is non-existent. I plan on studying this language at the University of Utah, where I plan to begin in the fall of 2012 and would like to at least minor, if not major in Arabic. I would like to get a jump start on learning what I can before hand however, so that I can move through the curriculum faster. I wonder what the schedule for the lessons would be like and how much the cost would be.

I'm a beginner in the language, I would like to learn Portugese because my wifes family only speaks Portugese and I would like to communicate with them. I have been taking spanish classes since I was a small boy. Language is fascinating to me, love to challenge myself. I have an extreme high level of spanish having taken it for 15 years and have lived in 2 spanish speaking countries. I find myself being very bored speaking english and am always looking for new friends and avenues to place myself where I can speak Spanish. I am now ready for another challenge. I have chosen to learn portuguese. I discovered the similarities between Spanish and Portuguese so I thought out of all the languages in the world thise would be the 'easiest' transition. I am willing to dedicate as much time as possible to learn this language. I want to be able to read and write Portuguse as well as obviously speak. I want someone I can meet up with and practice with on a daily basis. I also would like someone who can dedicate time with me to teach me correct grammer and pronunciation . Would be a plus if teacher also spoke spanish!
