The reason why I want to learn Tamil is because it is my native language. I grew up in Canada and never learned Tamil. My parents and family can speak Tamil but I can't. I have always felt ashamed and upset that I don't know my own native language. Plus I really want to learn it and am very determined to learn it now. I am at a beginner level of Tamil. I know the letters and their sounds. I can form few sentences. I would like to be able to speak Tamil properly more than being able to write and read Tamil. I would be able to dedicate a few nights Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and even time on the weekends to learn Tamil. The qualities that I am looking for in the lessons is for the students to practice speaking in Tamil and for the Teacher to create an environment where participation and feedback is encouraged.

Two -weekly sessions would suit with any other method of assistance other than face to face highly regarded, so as I could practice in my own time
