I would like to learn serbian as always been interested in learnig another language. Reason for serbian is my boyfriend is serbian. I am a begginer with no previous strudy of the language.
My goal for learnig Serbian is to be able to communicatate with others that speak Serbian especialy his family.
I would like to dedicate preferably 1 night a week.
The qualities that I would be looking for in my teacher is to be able to understand and achieve something in every lesson.

I am a midwife working in a hospital environment with a largely asian clientele, the majority of whom are chinese. Many of these women and their family members have little or no english. Some of our doctors speak chinese and vietmanese as their first language but the nursing staff are almost all anglo-saxon, such as myself, with no other language. Lots of smiling and gesturing follows but little meaningful communication . Using relatives to interpret is common-place but inappropriate and unreliable. Telephone interpreter services are helpful but cannot be utilized at every patient interaction. I would like to be able to at least be able to communicate at a basic level in mandarin and be able to learn at least the main words relevent to my practice. Fluency would be wonderful and very helpful, not only to myslf but to the whole maternity unit. Some other staff members have also expressed an interest in learning madarin, so both individual or small group classes may be possible.

I have been to Thailand 4 times in the last 12 months and have met and am now engaged to a thai girl. She speaks a little english but her parents and family do not so I want to be able to talk with them and and also my fiance in her language. It will also be beneficial as we may decide to eventually live in Thailand in the future.

Why you are learning your foreign language: A friend and i would like to learn Italian because my friend is marrying one and i have alwasy loved Italy. It's my favorite country!
Y our proficiency level: beginner
H ow much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons: weekly lessons of 1 to 2 hours.
What qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher: Preferably someone who is actually Italian so we could progress to informal Italian later on. Someone who has a lesson plan and course material for us.
