Description |
- I am Korean-Americ an and I've been wanting to learn how to speak not only to converse with my Mother's side of the family, but also because I feel it is important that I get in touch with my heritage. - I've taken some beginner classes so I know how to read and write, I know most of the characters (Some of the doubles or patchims..) - I need most improvement in grammar, vocabulary, converstaion. .. pretty much everything. I want to learn the language completely.. reading/writi ng included. Programs such as pimsleur only focus on conversationa l phrases, and even then they are taken out of context and hard to understand when to use them. - I would like to dedicate at LEAST 1 hr a week. - Someone who can teach via web cam, someone who understands how to structure a curriculum for a 22 yr old college graduate. Someone who is very thorough.

Description |
Hello, I am a dancer and have never had a second tongue. I recently went on tour with my company to Korea and the Korean language made sense to me. I decided to pursue learning Korean, and per suggestion of some Korean friends, I hope to eventually learn other Asian languages as well. Going back and dancing in Korea is a possibility, but I can always find work here as a translator. My proficiency is allover the place. Since I've been back in the US (the end of august) I've been taking free online courses. I'm getting better at reading and understanding Korean in it's written form, but listening and speaking I still leave much to be desired. I need to improve in all areas of the language. Be ing a student, dancer, and worker I don't have tons and tons of time. But I can, and will, put in enough (and more) time into learning Korean and any other languages that may follow. In a teacher, I look for a good knowledgeable person with good teaching skills.

Annyongkaseyo! Im so happy to find this site! My name is Kristina Toole and I have been learning Korean for 5 months now online. I have found that it would be much easier if I learn in person. I have made the decision to learn Korean because I find Korea to be a beautiful place. I also heard being multi lingual looks good on your college resime. So it fits right in. I think im still a beginner, although iv learned my symbols and numbers im still having trouble with some words. I guess you could say i need improvement with everything. I would like to have lessons for 2hrs at least. I would like my teacher to be a female Native Korean. So thats all hope to learn soon!

Description |
Having lived in an international dormitory for the last two years of my college career at UC Berkeley, I made a number of Korean friends. I would deeply enjoy being able to communicate with them in their native tongue and have the language skills to comfortably sustain myself in Korea when I visit them in the future.
I have no prior formal experience speaking Korean, though I have attempted to teach myself the basics of the Hangul alphabet and some vocabulary. Long-term, I would very much like to reach a conversationa l level of aptitude.
Ideally, I would like to meet with a tutor once a week and spend upwards of 10 hours a week practicing independently .
A patient and well organized teacher who can recognize my progress and misunderstand ings are all I ask for!
