I am learning Mandarin as my high school language, but also because i really hope to go to China sometime. I'm going to be a missionary, and China is one place I've felt called to go to for years! though i expect that i will learn more from the Chinese than what i could teach them, i just would like to be there to be another light of Jesus' love, and play with those cute little kids and tell them the greatness of the love God has for them!
I don't know what level I'm at.. I'm a beginner, but not completely new to the language.. i can't speak enough Chinese to have a real conversation, but i can put together a few sentences. so i guess that would probably be BEGINNER? xD since I only just started :) :)
I need to improve my writing.. both characters and pinyin. I hardly know any characters since I'm learning mostly with pinyin, but my spelling is pretty bad -as i just discovered today [2/3/11] while using the Rosetta Stone program.. I'm getting towards the end of year one of their curriculum, and i just completely failed at one of there writing assignments, which i could improve by trying it over a few more times more.. but i think it'd be best if i just got some extra help with it as well.-
I also could just use some help understanding longer sentences.. just the way its laid out and stuff.
I can go with as long as needed! as long as it doesn't take ALL DAY..
:D just someone who can be patient with me, and can teach me what is needed for me to know. it would be VERY nice if they where a Christian too, but its perfectly fine if they aren't, as long as we can get along without being upset about religions.
O H, also; I CAN'T PAY A LOT OF MONEY. since the economy is so bad here right now, and my parents have and a hard enough time making money before this craziness all started, if i have to pay anything at all it must be super cheap( but still good lessens :) ).

Hello --
I am seeking a tutor for my children so they can learn Mandarin. They are 3 1/2 and 6. They have never had Mandarin lessons before but the oldest had 3 years of Spanish. I am interested in having a tutor come to our home for after school teaching 2 days a week. I am seeking a tutor who has experience teaching young children, where they have short attention spans and like to make learning fun and enjoyable. I will support lessons and learning as a parent.

hi!
i have been living in china the past 9 years (presently, in nanjing, jiangsu province). i know how to speak about 1000 putonghua words but cannot put them into sentences. i teach at jiangsu university and nanjing university and live in a small apartment provided by the university. i need to learn to speak putonghua and begin reading chinese characters. i will be moving to nanning, guangxi, in a year and hope to have a fundamental grasp of speaking putonghua to communicate with my fiance's parents and extended family.
