Hi my name is Ross and I am interested to learn Italian. I have friends overseas in Europe, India and South America who speak Italian and I would like to learn.
I had an Italian step-father for a while and so I know basic Italian (eg. basic phrases, numbers, etc, etc).
I am looking to have private lessons on weekends or weeknights. I live in Sydney (city).

I would like to learn Japanese as one day my husband and I plan to spend up to 6 months touring Japan and I would like to be proficient in the language. I am at beginner level. I would like to be able to speak conversationa l Japanese to enable me to travel. I am prepared to spend an hour a week (maybe 2 hours) on lessons with homework to do in between. I am just finishing High School and will be going to Argentina in March 2010 as part of the Lattitude Volunteer Program to teach English as a foreign language. It is a prerequisite to speak Spanish on arrival. I am looking for a teacher/tutor to help me learn some basic Spanish. I would be happy to have some live tuition, as well as working with tapes, cd's, text chat. I will be finishing exams by the end of November and would be keen to start as soon as possible after that.

I'm part of a group of 5 people who are all really excited about learning french. We all have VERY little to no knowledge of the language but we are committed to learning the language hence the small group!! we plan to have weekly lessons followed by a lot of socialising (which we already do as we're good friends!!!) but are aiming to only speak french to each other.
although i'm sure we've all romanticised the idea of learning and speaking french we are quite aware that its going to take a long time and require bucket loads of commitment!!
