I am interested in learning the Russian language because my wife is Russian, I want my children to remain fluent, we speak and visit with her family and friends often, and I enjoy learning Russian very much. Long term, I would like to be able to read well enough to get through a novel without having to stop every other word and consult a dictionary. My wife speaks Russian, but she is a very impatient teacher. I would say I am between beginner to intermediate. I have studied a lot of vocabulary from books, and completed Rosetta Stone Level 1. I think I need the most help in listening and understanding as I often get lost in conversation. I can usually make myself understood although I often cannot find the right words for what I want to say. Of course my grammer is not great.
I would like to have one session each week. My schedule is different each week and changes sometimes. On my own, I can dedicate a good bit of time to learning Russian and I would enjoy having alot of homework. My teacher would need to be flexible because of my work schedule mostly. Also be good at assessing my current level and how to best start with what I know and build on it. I am often told when I ask a question 'don't ask why, just do it'. I want to know why because I think it could help me better understand other situations. I am eager to learn. Please help.

I would like to learn Russian because it is my nationality and I am planning to go to Russia in about 2 years with my family...I am a complete beginner and would like to learn the basics of conversation and understanding . I can dedicate a fair amount of time to studying the language and I am looking for a teacher who is can help prepare me for my trip and help me to understand and speak the basics to get around.

I'd like to learn Russian for possibly job opportunities later down the road. Many of my friends speak Russian and I'd like to be able to converse on some level with them. If anything I'd like to advance my grammar and conversation. I'm looking for more of a long term teacher who can move fairly rapidly and keep me working at home with assignments to progress my proficiency in the language.

I am looking for a Russian language teacher. I have always been fascinated with Russia: language, culture, history, etc. I have been studying Russian on my own, but I do realize I am at the point where I need a teacher. I do know basics of the language- through my own studies and through a beginner class I took several years ago. I will say the class was a real disappointmen t. The teacher was horrible...I ended up dreading every class. I still love the language, though, and want to finish what I started.
I also know Russian would be very helpful in my career, as well. I work as a history educator and tour guide. My basic Russian skills have come in handy time and time again...and I would love to really be able to converse with the people I meet.
I am looking for a Russian language teacher who is patient, kind, flexible, and understands how to teach. I need someone who remembers I am a beginner- I will work hard- but I am not fluent. That was part of the problem with my first teacher- she expected us, in a beginner class, to be fluent the first day. It was really crushing...I want a positive experience. I have wanted to learn Russian for years and I will dedicate myself to the task.
I would prefer lessons in-person, but I am open to learning about other options. Thank you so much!
