I want to learn Japanese because I love Japan and Japanese culture. I'm also going to study computer engineering and plan to study abroad in Japan my 3rd year. I believe being able to fluently write and speak Japanese would be a great asset to myself and my future goals. I am a begginer and know only a very few words. I would obviously need improvement in all areas. I would like to dedicate as much time as neccesary to learn Japanese sa well as I possibly can, while also letting the tutoring hours fit in with my school schedule. Some qualities I would look for in a teacher would be someone who is very knowledgeable of Japanese culture and trends, who's lived in Japan, and one who is patient.

I would like to take intensive classes for a month or two.
In French I am at an intermediate/ advanced level. I've even tutored kids in basic French but the advanced level French got very rusty because of lack of practice for years. I'd like to learn business French now.

I recently lived in Japan for one month on a government scholarship. I did sightseeing, attended school, and made many friends. I learned basic phrases and words. I want to expand my knowledge so I can communicate better with my friends when I return to Japan. I may take the AP Japanese test this year as an independent study (I am currently a high school senior). I am in Philadelphia every Saturday for music lessons and rehearsals. I am looking for 30-90 minute lessons (not sure what's the proper length for a language lesson) on Saturday morning or late afternoon. I could dedicate about four hours a week to studying.
