I am completely new to German. I do know very few words.
I have some basic experience speaking Polish. I know my alphabet, numbers 1 to 20, small vocabulary, and some common phrases, sentences.
I am studying abroad in Germany for college, currently, and would like to capable of speaking to people of Berlin, if that means only in very basic terms, that is fine.
My family if from Poland, however we do not speak it at home because my mother does not speak it. I still have family there and at home whom speak fluent Polish. I would like to learn my home language.
I am a very fast learner and hard worker. I just never had an environment to learn this in.

Guten Abend,
Ich wohne in Deustchland aber ich bin Amercanischer .
My wife and I have lived in Germany for about 10 months now and we have tried learning some German on our own. My wife, Jeanette, is in the Army and works at Landstuhl Army Hospital. We would love to become conversationa l in German in order to get the most out of our stay here. But it has been very difficult to learn. This is in a large part due to the fact that so many Germans speak English very well. Often we find that Germans switch to English once they realise that our German is not so good in order to make the conversation easier.
Hopefully you can help us. We would like to study approximately 4 -6 hours a week (including weekends if possible.) We would prefer to study at or near our home in Neidermohr, Germany. Niedermohr is near Ramstein just north of the junction of A6 and A62.
I would say that we are still very much beginners although we are able to struggle through a basic conversation with a waiter or ask for simple directions.

Hi. I've been living in Germany for over 2 years, and I don't speak German AT ALL!! Maybe, it's about time for me to start learning the language.. (finally!!)
