I am interested in moving to Germany over the next 6 months to a year and would like to learn as much German as I can. Learning using books and self study courses has proven to be ineffective with other attempts and I would appreciate the assistance and motivation of a teacher within the Calgary area. I currently know basically no German.

I am a student at an American University in the United States. I received a scholarship to study for one year in Germany. I have not had a chance to take a German course until now. So, at the moment, I know very little German. I must be in Kaiserslauter n by October 1st; other than that, I am wide open for suggestions. Time is not an issue. I will spend whatever time is necessary to complete the course(s) as long as the price is reasonable. I expect to get from the course what I put into it such as time and money.
I do not think one-on-one teaching is what i am looking for, simply because it is not cost efficient for either party.
