I have taken two courses in Hindi in college, 101 and 102 but I am basically I beginner. I love hindi and everything about it, the culture, the people, etc and I want to continue with the language learning. I would like to take lessons twice a week. I want a teacher with a lot of ambition and drive that will teach me a lot and make me love Hindi even more.

I am a native English speaker. I have some experience with Spanish, (3 years of high school and one semester in college which was about 8 years ago.) I have also taken a semester of French, (though very little is retained.) I have taken diction classes in German and Russian. I am considering a trip to the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, (Chennai) and would also like to learn Hebrew. I would love to learn any language that might help me in India.
I live about 30 minutes south of Nashville and would be willing to travel to Nashville once per week.
I am a visual learner and will want to understand the basis of the alphabet as well as grammar and cultural contexts.

My name is Charlotte,
I am fluent in English and Spanish but want to learn a third language, and that language is Hindi. I would also like to learn to read and write in Hindi. The only experience I have is by watching Bollywood movies with English subtitles on. Nothing more.
My sister Victoria would also like to learn alongside me, and this will be her second language to learn. She is actually going to India when she is 17. She is 15 and I am 20. We are both interested in the people, culture, and history of India, as well as the Hindi language. We would like to learn together. Have someone teach us the same lessons, so we could progress equally and could have a study partner while we're not in class.
I am learning Hindi because I not only have a passion for my people, and my husband's people (Mexico), but for India, as well. I look forward to traveling to India someday, and I would like to know more about how to communicate with the people there in their native tongue.
I am a stay-at-home- mother of a baby girl, so I am not going to be able to commit a huge amount of time. But I am willing to put my best foot forward and give it a shot. My sister is also willing to put everything she has into this.
I am looking for someone who can encourage us, and be patient with us as we embark on a new language. We do not have a lot of money, in fact my husband and I are still living with my family because of that, but my sister and I still have the hearts to learn. Maybe we could even exchange lessons for dinner. I love to cook.

I have travelled to India now four times. Each time I go back I want more and more to actually speak the language (either Hindi or Tamil). I have never spoken either before, except with the children I work with (I can count to twenty in Tamil). I am willing to dedicate as much time as is needed to begin to speak Hindi and/or Tamil.
Basically I want to learn because I love India and I want to be able to speak to people there in their own native languages!

I was born and raised in America but I am Indian so I do know some Hindi . I would like to learn how to speak it as well as learn how to write it if time permits and im hoping it will only take a few months to pick up.
