I am interested to learn to read and write Japanese abroad. I have some basic knowledge in Japanese; I know about a 100 kanji and katakana and hiragana, but now I want to learn more.

I started learning Japanese through self teaching, i.e. books and CD's, but unfortuantly it is not going too good. I am finding it hard to understand Japanese when it is spoken to me, but I'm coping with speaking it. I need more practice at every day conversation and am in need of serious help.
I do not get to practice my Japanese very often as not many people I know speak it and my work hours make it difficult.
