I have been trying to learn Russian on my own through CDs and phrase books for the past year or so. I have learned quite a bit own my own, but I would love to have private lessons with a native Russian speaker. I am fascinated by the Russian language and would love to learn more about the countries history and it's traditions and culture. I want to become fluent in Russian. I want to be able to speak, read and write as a native Russian.

I have been to Ukraine once and Russia twice, so I've learned some Russian during my time there. I can read and write the Cyrillic alphabet, but very slowly. I have some basic conversationa l ability. I am definitely still a beginner, but not completely new to the language.
I want to learn Russian so I can do more volunteerism with orphans in Eastern Europe.
I would like to spend at least an hour a week with a tutor or group to practice Russian, and I plan to dedicate about 6 hours a week to studying Russian.
I would like lessons that help me conversationa lly, but also with reading and writing if possible.
