I would like to learn german because I have a lot of friends that are german that come here to the U.S alot. I also go to germany at least once a year, would like to go to school there eventually. I would have rank my skill level in the language at a 2 on a scale of one to ten. I need help with conversation, and grammar. I would like two work on my language at least 2 to 3 times per week. I am looking for a teacher who is able to show me the best way to learn, and learn efficently.

I am looking for a one to one teacher to come to my home and teach German, the reason why i need to learn is that my partner is German and in order for me to communicate with his family i need to speak the language as they do not speak English and when we go to visit, it is very hard for and does put a strain on our relationship so no i really want to learn but i am not confidant in learning so will have to start from the beginning.

I suppose the best way to answer the question, why are you learning a foreign language?, to communicate. To answer more practically, I am studying linguistics and, obviously, having in depth knowledge of any language is beyond helpful. Currently, in Russian, my level of proficiency is beginner, though I am a fast learner. I learn grammar and conjugation the fastest, while I conversation and vocabulary are always needing improvement. I love learning languages so I can spend up to four hours a day studying. Granted, this is not an everyday practice, but still. I look for teachers who have a good grasp of grammar, rigorous lessons and exercises, and of course, easily makes the material accessible.
