I am interested in Japanese culture, history, and literature. I am especially interested in shogi. I want to learn enough Japanese to read books on topics, such as shogi, that I am interested in.
I am a beginner. I took two years of Japanese in college, but have forgotten most of it. I am interested in regular weekly lessons.

Looking for a native speaker of Norwegian to help me acquire a conversationa l proficiency. I would prefer a native of Østlandsdiale kt, but that is not required.
I already have a very basic level of understanding stemming from comparative studies of German and older forms of English, in addition to passive learning acquired from Scandinavian music and film.
I am a firm believer in learning through immersive conversationa lism. So a lesson plan that centers around everyday speech as opposed to categorized groupings of nouns, verbs, etc. would be preferred, but anything would be welcome.

I'm married to a Latvian woman and I'm making slow progress trying to learn the language while we live here in the U.S. I'm very much a beginner and I need improvement in all areas, though I'd like to improve my confidence in conversation (listening and speaking) the most. I'd like to try devoting four hours per day (in-person) to learning Latvian while I'm visiting family in Latvia. It's too difficult to learn from family because I need a more structured learning environment.
The qualities I'm looking for in a teacher are:
1.) A strong sense of organization
2.) The ability to articulate a plan with achievable goals (the goals can be simple as I'm very much a beginner)
3. ) Patience =)

I am interested in working with someone to improve my Spanish. My fiance is from Mexico and my best friend is Puerto Rican so I am around Spanish speakers a lot. I took two years of Spanish in High School and two years in college so I have a decent base to work from.
