Hi! I am a teacher in the North Houston area and I am wanting to learn the basics of Arabic. I will be heading to Abu Dhabi to teach English in August so would like to take a few private lessons each week before I go. I have zero experience with Arabic so I will need someone patient but I am excited about this experience and eager to learn. Some years ago I decided to learn a second language simply for fun. An acquaintance I knew at the time had expressed that they had decided to learn a second language in their middle age stage of life and found it to be very enjoyable. In an article on learning a second language as an adult, there were findings that it was beneficial for mental qualities. At the time I lived in Houston and found a private tutor that was very reasonable and started lessons of 1 & ½ hours a day four days a week. As a result of relocation to the East (Delaware) I have not found any private lessons available. I have acquired a Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur set of DVD/CDs. I am interested in finding a more personal approach and start again.
