I am seeking a tutor for beginner Sanskrit. I want to be able to read, write, and converse after studying for a year or two. I have been using some home study courses, but I need a teacher to whom I will be accountable for assignments and to whom I can ask questions and have my pronounciatio n checked, etc.
I have wanted to learn Sanskrit for many years, but put it off as being impractical. However, I am now in a position where I can focus on learning the language. I am a meditator and want to be able to read sacred literature in its native language. Eventually, if I have an aptitude for this, I would love to find a way to teach or write utilizing these linguistic skills.
I can spend up to five hours a week studying. I would like to start with one lesson a week via Skype or some other video or audio method. The best teacher for me would have an organized curriculum and strong ability to communicate complex information clearly. I am hoping for a responsive iand professional instructor who has worked with beginners and students in the US.
