I was born in Korea and moved here ( the U.S.) when I was almost 4 years old. My mom had to work all the time, so i lost the ability to speak Korean because no one was home to speak it to me. I want to learn Korean again because I want to feel connected to my heritage. I need help in all areas of the language from conversation to grammar. I am looking for someone who is willing to teach! I do not know any Thai at all. I am hoping to move to Thailand in 2007 for work as a missionary or English teacher, so I need basic conversationa l skills. I would like to meet at least once a week. I have a passion for languages. Right now I'm some-what conversant in Spanish and Italian (intermediate ). I would like to continue with those studies and become fluent one day. My conversationa l skill is a beginner level. I studied Japanese at SDSU for 1.5 years and lived in Japan for one year. I can read and write hiragana and katakana but I've forgoten most kanji.
I am interested in learning conversationa l Japanese. Learning from a textbook is very different from actually speaking with someone.
I 'd like to visit some friends in Japan in September. Hopefully, I can speak Japanese with them.
I think 1-2 meeting per week would be good.
My listening comprehension needs to improve. I often had to ask people to repeat themselves many times.
