I would like to learn Croatian for various reasons. After visiting friends in Zagreb, I would like to return to the country and be able to gain a certain level of fluency, but think it would be necessary to have a starting point ahead of time. Also, I plan on attaining my PhD in linguistics and think that the knowledge of a non-latin language would be helpful in this endeavor.

I come from a family that totally consists of Croatians.
Though unfortunately as a child my parents only spoke to me in English, and as a result i have an EXTREMELY limited understanding of the language.
Most of my relatives have to use a mixture of both Croatian and English for me to understand what they're trying to say.
I want to change this. I really want to be able to communicate with the rest of my family. Get to know who they are and their personalities .
I want to learn basics and be able to have a fluent conversation with those who i know. Reading and writing as well. Eventually i hope I can adopt it as a TOTAL second language.
I am looking for someone who can offer me all this.
This is something I have wanted for years, but have never had the time to study. Now I have the time, and now I want to learn.

I am just starting out to learn the language. My family is from Hvar, one of the island in croatia and I am planning on living there for a year or so and I was hoping to learn the language or at least be able to understand and converse before I go. Interested in croatian language tutoring. Would prefer group lessons... and can start as soon as February (but I am flexible depending on what you have available). Zagreb or Rijeka.
I have beginner level Croatian (basic tourist knowledge, although now here for business)... and need to learn vocabulary and practice conversationa l understanding . I am available till May and would be willing to take daily courses ... but schedule can be flexible.

I learned a little Croatian as a small child, but have forgotten most of it. I'm planning to visit Croatia this spring or summer, and would love to be at least slightly conversationa l in the language. I could devote 2-3 hrs. per week of class time, and whatever is necessary as far as study is concerned. I'm looking for a teacher who is patient, very proficient in the language, and who won't spend an inordinate amount of time on grammar, since I'm only interested in being conversationa lly fluent. I also need to find a teacher who charges a reasonable rate.
