Beginner. I simply love the country, people, language, and culture. The syrilic alphabet is most confusing to me. I would be prepaired to commit to 2 hours a day. The instructer/te acher will find me to be a quick and enthusiastic learner but at times shy. I need to stress my desire for a teacher here in Victoria, B.C. Canada, NOT over the internet!

I am a beginner with no previous foreign language experience. I intend to visit the Russia, Belarus or Ukraine later this year.
I am terrible at rote memorization, but I can assimilate rules and patterns, and can learn somewhat well when I can actually use a skill. So trying to learn isolated phrases or sentences from a textbook is not very productive for me.
