I am looking for a conversation class for my home health aide. Her english is ok, but she has great difficulty with conversation. She understand about 40%. She finds our language tricky due to the very flexible rules, slang and Americanisms. Help! I'm a beginner, although I have a bit of vocabulary. My wife is Polish and I can't speak to many of her relatives. Unfortunately , I can only spend 2-3 hours class time a week now. If that gives me a shot at basic conversation, it's better than the sign-language I use with my father-in-law now. I'm looking for a teacher who will emphasize practical conversation rather than gramatical perfection, at first. Grammar can develop. I need to communicate.

I took a first-year level Hindi and Urdu college class while getting my MBA 6 years ago. I am Gujarati in origin, but have only learned the very basics (we spoke English growing up at home). I am very interested in getting to the point of being conversationa l with Hindi -- at the level I reached when I studied before, I never got past some basic sentences. But I also want to learn proper grammar, work on pronunciation and lastly, improve writing/readi ng.
I am looking for a teacher who is committed, energetic and can cater to my learning style - but I am happy to learn with a small group as it helps to practice with others.
I would probably want to commit about 2 times per week for lessons.
