I plan on going to Bulgaria in two years to retire on pension. I was thinking of the Varna Beach Resort Area. I do not speak or understand Bulgarian presently. I would like to learn basic conversation and vocabulary. Depending what type of delivery ie: Live or online.I probably could spend 2-3hrs a week. I would prefer live one on one with a Native Bulgarian as I would like to learn cultural aspects of the country as well as language. I live about 40ks from Victoria, British Coumbia, on Vancouver Island.

My partner and I are considering a business venture in Bulgaria. Unfortunately , neither of us know a word of Bulgarian.
Conversationa l/tourist Bulgarian would be my primary objective. I would like to learn the basics online before spending time in person with a tutor.
I am willing to spend 5-8 hours a week learning the basics. After that, the time I spend in person with a tutor will depend on how well I''m grasping the language!

I am learning Bulgarian with the aid of books and tapes but would really appreciate some conversationa l practice with a fluent speaker of Bulgarian. If there is a Bulgarian out there who is learning English and would like help and support, I am happy to make our language learning a reciprocal arrangement (as against student-teach er).
Althou gh I need conversationa l practice I would also be delighted to have my written language corrected and criticised so this cry for help may well appeal to someone whose English is no more advanced than my Bulgarian.
