I wish to improve my vocabulary and ability to communicate in Cantonese. I am of Chinese background but was raised in Canada. I have a basic level of Cantonese but wish to be able to discuss more complex issues i.e. world affairs, my opinion on various topics. At this stage learning to read and write is not a goal.
My teacher should be be someone who also speaks English well and understands North American culture and values.

Dear Sir/Madam
I used to live in Hong Kong. I lived there for about 10 years and at one point my Cantonese was reasonably proficient. I have been away for over 10 years now and forgotten most of it. However I have a lot of friends there and go back for a holiday every year.
I have always loved hearing and speaking Cantonese and for a long time have wanted to pick it up again.
I have a range of costs in mind for how much a lesson is as my children have mandarin tuition.
I believe that ideally I would like a 2-hour session once a week. I would only be able to do morning time though.
