Hi my name is Adam Lee Perez. I am from the New York area and i am interested in learning mandarin for a number of reasons. One of them being i want to go into international buiness in china after college and i feel know the language and understanding the culture will better help me understand the needs of the people. Also the girl i am in love with is a NYU graduate who was born in taiwan. Her english is perfect but her parents dont speak it much. I find it hard to be accepted into a family when you cannont communicate with the parents. There are a few other reasons but i hope that you can contact me back. I am looking forward to a response i do live in Manhattan and i am pretty flexible with traveling to other boroughs to study. This would be a great life experience and i hope to see a teacher soon. I am a beginner and have only taken a short introductory Mandarin class two summers ago. I can speak Cantonese fluently.
I want to learn Mandarin so that I can communicate with my fiance's family.
I would like to learn the basics for conversation, and need help with my accent (I tend to have a strong Cantonese accent when trying to speak Mandarin words).
I can dedicate one or two week nights (M-F) and/or weekends - I can be flexible.
I would like my teacher to be patient and well-rounded, and proficient in English, and Cantonese if possible (but not necessary).
