Moving to Berlin for university. I have been learning on my own for a week reading story books and listening to some audio along with apps. I would like to focus on writing and speaking since they usually tend to lag behind my listening and reading skills. Grammar would also require attention in this particular case. I would be able to dedicate a lot of time for language lessons. I'm looking for a teacher that understands how to keep the content fresh since it can get increasingly difficult as we reach language plateaus.

I majored in Germanic and Slavic Languages (German, Russian, Beginners Polish and Bosnian/Croat ian/Serbian) and Middle Eastern Studies(Arabi c). I'm also interested in European Portuguese. I graduated six years ago and I have nearly forgotten everything. I've had no opportunity to practice and it's really wreaked havoc on my language skills. I would say at one point I was near-Fluent in German and Russian and Advanced in Modern Standard Arabic...but really now it's back to beginners with Arabic... then beginner level with Polish, BCS, and Portuguese(Ab solute)...and barely intermediate with German and Russian. Conversation! Conversation! Conversation! How to speak more like a native, not so textbook! I'm nervous...and I've always been, but with no practice, I'm EXTREMELY nervous, but I want to work pass that. Well outside of tutoring, I'd like to study some everyday, but about maybe 1-2 hours of tutoring per language a week! I suppose someone who is reliable and fun, and helps me learn the language through various methods. I'm 32 and I'd like someone who can relate to me at that age and my general interest. I'm fun loving and sociable, so I'd like my lessons to mirror that as much as possible. I'd also like someone who is patient and won't make TOO much fun if I mess it up!

I am learning German for a few reasons, it's a very interesting language and history and am planning on going on a trip there in 2024. I am not a complete novice but can speak, at a slow pace, about my life and hobbies, etc. I do not plan on learning how to write German, only speaking it, but I'm still a long way from fluent. I would be willing to have anywhere from one hour a week, up to seven (when time permits). I am a dedicated learner and will take the information seriously. I believe the only way to learn something, is to do it. I didn't learn English by remembering all the rules and having them cemented into my brain, so i don't want that with my second language, also. I'd like to pick it up as naturally as possible.
