I am a beginner. I wish to learn Croation as my partner is from Croatia but is hopeless at trying to teach me(typical male, no patience). I would like to learn how to speak and understand the language, but not necessarily know how to write it. We are travelling to Croatia mid 2007 and I would like a basic understanding by this time so would dedicate as much time as it takes. I am looking for a teacher with patience and understanding that as an 45 year old Aussie, it might take a bit to get me used to the different pronunciation of words.

Hello - I believe we have spoken before via email. My name is Tess James and I am interested in possibly beginning classes with you, if you are available to teach. I have lived in Croatia and have taught beginning Croatian myself, and am at an advanced level, but I haven't spoken much of it in the past year and need to relearn what I've forgotten and begin to advance again. I have been learning Croatian for the last 4 months as I have friends who live and work in Zagreb. I consider that I am a beginner, but would like to learn the language as a way of being able to live and work in the country in the near future.
I would like to gain a firm foundation in conversation Croatian and grammar, but with the bias on the former.I currently study the language 2-3 hours per week, although would like to spend 2-3 hours on the conversation either online or live depending on proximity of the teacher to where I live.
I am looking for a teacher who has lived and worked in Croatia and who can help me develop my language skills to the level required for work in the country.
