I want to learn mandarin to improve my communication and written skills in the language. I am from Australia, and working in Qingdao and would like to develop a solid grasp of the language. Ive had lessons in mandarin before in Australia but i would still consider my ability to speak and read mandarin as basic. I would like to have lessons maybe 2-5 hours a week. We are looking for a native-speaki ng private Mandarin and Cantonese tutor for our children (four year old twins) who can travel to our home in Samut Prakan three of four times per week. This will be for a three month period beginning as soon as possible from today (7 Jul 2010)
Our children are native English and Thai speakers and they have been attending a local kindergarten in Hong Kong for two years where they learn Cantonese, with Mandarin taught as a secondary language. We have a preference for our children to learn Mandarin over Cantonese, and it would be a big advantage if we can find a teacher who can teach both Mandarin and Cantonese (perhaps alternating between the two on different days).
On the other hand, teachers of Mandarin only, or Cantonese only are also welcome to apply.
