My husband and I are planning a trip to China from mid June to mid July this summer. Neither of us speaks any Mandarin currently, and we would like to learn more about the language and culture before we travel. We both work full time currently, and would be available for lessons in the evenings or weekends. We would be interested in meeting 1-2 days per week for 1-3 hours at a time in the Tacoma area.

Hi! My name is Kim Wright and I am an International Flight Attendant with American Airlines. I fly mostly to Brasil and after 22 years of flying, you would think I could speak it fluently by now. I think the language is sinking into my head but I love flying to Brasil and hearing the language. I have Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur but I am not self disciplined. I do better when I am with someone teaching me.
I would like to learn grammar, conversation, and terms of medical equipment we use on the airplane and medical terms if someone should get sick. Unfortunately , I fly alot and not home as much but I am thinking I can afford once a week which is 4 times a month or 3 times a month. I would have to see how my schedule goes.
I want to learn everything about Brasil, music, conversation, grammar, geography,etc . I hope someday to be able to qualify as a Portuguese Speaker with American Airlines and pass their test.
