Hello,
I will be staying with my new Chinese gf in Tokyo (she is working there) over the summer months (July 10 to Sept 10 2010). I want to make use of the time there by studying Chinese/Manda rin, preferrably in a small group, else in private lessons. I would be looking for like 2 sessions a week at 2 hours each for the time I am in Tokyo.
I have no prior command of Mandarin.
As this would be my 5th foreign language, I have some practice in how to study a language, though. I want to understand a language, i.e. system, grammar, be able to write and read, and not just learn some everyday phrases by heart.

Dear Language Instructor,
I would like to acquire a language tutor for my 6 year-old son, and possibly myself. I feel that Mandarin Chinese is very imortant to learn and I would like my son to have a basic understanding of the language. Both my son, and myself have no previous instruction speaking Mandarin. I would prefer an instructor who is patient and kind (experience with children is a plus), to provide classes one hour per week to start. Any information regarding classes, times, and pricing is greatly appreciated.
