I want to learn foreign languages because I think it's important for people to be able to speak more than one language. It's essential to communicate with other people around the world, and gives you the opportunity to do so. I want to learn Spanish so that I can speak with my girlfriend's family. They are Colombian - some speak English well, others hardly at all. I speak a very little bit of Spanish now, and can sometimes understand the the context of basic conversations . While my initial goal is to converse socially, I'd like to be proficient enough to someday do business (from Ottawa)in Spanish speaking countries.
I'm prepared to spend 5 to 10 hours a week working on the language.
I'd prefer Wendy Elena Ordonez as a teacher. I appreciate her qualification s and I was impressed with her profile. In particular she had positive reviews and spoke frequently of teaching the culture as well as the language. I want private and in-person lessons so my instructor must be Ottawa based.
