I used to speak Spanish fairly well but haven't spoken in almost 20 years. I lived in Madrid and Buenos Aires for almost two years in the early 1990. I am travelling to Lima on May 20th for a few days and wanted to practice Spanish while in town.

Hola,
my name is Julian Randall, and I am a beginner at the Spanish language. I regret that I am such a beginner that I cannot write this in Spanish. I am looking to take Spanish lessons because I want to learn a second language and also because when I have travelled I have been frustrated that I cannot express myself or communicate to any depth with the people I am interacting with. I plan to be travelling to more Spanish speaking countries in the future and would like to be able to communicate more readily and fluently.
I have practiced with Spanish(elang uge)software, which is helpful, but lacks the conversationa l and listening-rec ognition aspects of communication . I am ready to take it to the next level. My goal is to be able to speak and converse much better at this time next year when I travel.
I love language and am an avid reader. My only regret is not having a second language. I would like to learn Spanish and then hopefully move onto French. I am hoping that you may be able to help me or point me in the right direction as far as lessons go. I have a fairly flexable schedule and am thinking about lessons one to four times a month depending on the advice of the teacher. I am looking for lessons that will give a good understanding of how Spanish works and a good fondation for conversation.
