I want to to learn a foreign language because i think it would be interresting and because I think it would help me in my career I want to pursue. I am a beginner for both Mandarin and Japanese, I have never studied it before. I would like to dedicate about 3-5 hours a week on the language with a teacher. I want to learn chinese mandarin for business matters. My level on the language is a 0% i am a beginner. The areas i would need help on would be grammar, conversation, reading, etc. i would like my lessons for atleast 2 or 3 times a week. the qualities im looking owards these lessons or my techer is the abiility to tech well, and for the lessons to be a success.

I am a recent graduate in finance from the John Molson school of Business. I have always been fascinated by chinese culture and language. I had set an objective of learning the language once I graduate, and so I am now trying to follow through this plan. I am familiar with the fact that mandarin is a hard language to aquire and I am therefore not expecting to grasp it from one year to another. I have to admit that grammar has always been my weakness in school and it is one of the reasons I chose to get into business and appplied mathematics. I am however a quick learner of speech and therefore am not worried of being able to carry on conversations throughout my learning experience. What I am looking for in a teacher is simply patience, understanding and a good method of teaching a new language. I am aware that these people are professionals and have a skill that not many people have and I am therefore looking forward to joining a group or even personal tutorials.

I want to learn other languages in preparation for my future. Right now I'm taking up Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and currently in second year, I figured that since computers are of great usage now and will be at the future. I am expecting that I will be learning would be of great use for me in the future. I am willing to devote myself in learning foreign language at most 5 hours a day or during my vacant time. I have learned a couple of words in the language I chose to learn, but I would to start from the very beginning as to be likened to a nursery class wherein names are first introduced, then numbers and slowly being laddered to words and phrases.
