I wish to learn Spanish for reasons both professionall y as well as personal. I work in the labour movement and my organization has many international alliances, because of this I often attend conferences and meetings in Mexico, Latin America. I have also had the opportunity to work with a number of workers from Mexico and speaking the language would be a great asset. I am also participate in many worker to worker conferences with Cubans.
Pers onally I enjoy travelling to Cuba and would like to be able to speak Spanish more fluently so that I can carry on a conversation and do more then ask for my cafe or vino tento or my leche.

I have been trying to learn with Rosetta Stone software, but am having a bit of difficulty going through English, then French, then back to English then Spanish.
Though I am bilingual, I would like to try with a Spanish tutor who speaks French.
My goal is to learn as much as I can before June in order to be able to converse with my girlfriend's parents who we are visiting in June. She is from Venezuela, so my preference in Latin American, as opposed to European Spanish.
I am hoping to take three to five lessons a week of about one hour. Ideally from my office in Westboro in Ottawa. Mornings or over lunch.
