Would like to learn a new language. My level of proficiency in the at a beginners level- although I do know a fair amount of vocabulary. I would have about one hour on a daily basis (2-3 mths) to study the language. I am looking to learn the language fairly thoroughly.

I want to learn Chinese (Mandarin) in order to become proficient in the language and eventually become a translator and/or interpretor. I have no previous knowledge of the language but am fluent in English. I would be able to dedicate weekends for the learnign of the langauage. Tht tutor should be able to guide me as regards to understanding the popularity of the language in India and abroad, commercial scope of learning the language, and ways to best learn the language.

I wish to learn to speak Gujarati since a substantial no. of my clients are Gujaratis. My business takes me to different parts of Gujarat and it would be advantageous for me to know the local language.
I am willing to dedicate at least one hour every day till I attain proficiency in this language.
My mother is Tamil, but I am very proficient in Hindi and Marathi.
I expect the teacher to interact with on a one is to one basis. Please note that my aim to speak Gujarati and writing is secondary.

-> I will be living on a farm outside Kodaikanal in the near future, and want to learn to speak Tamil so that I can communicate with the local people and the staff who will be helping me run my home and farm.
-> I am a beginner - I can say a few basic phrases, and count to ten.
-> My main requirement is to learn conversationa l Tamil.
-> As much as my teacher recommends, although, since I run my own business, there is a bit of a time constraint.
-> I would prefer lessons to be at my home, if possible. My teacher would need to speak good English so we can communicate well. Other than that, I am hoping to find a teacher who loves teaching and loves Tamil, so that I may be infected by that same passion.
