I am very interested in learning to speak Croatian more fluently. My current proficiency level would be just above beginner for the main reason that it is my ethnic background and I have been around it all my life but my ability to speak the language would be that of comedy in my opinion.
T he reason I would like to learn is that I plan on going to visit my relatives in Croatia next year and I would like to be able to converse with them in the native tongue, and I would like to be able to converse with my Mom in her language. I know it would make her happy, and myself as well.
Area s of improvement would really be all of the above. Although, I would utimately like to be able to converse and carry a conversation.
I am quite busy with my work, however, I would be willing to put in alot of night time if I felt that I was making good strides and progress learning the language.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher would be:
Patien ce, sincerity, dedication, friendly, and a good sense of humour. A Croatian teaching certification would be a bonus, but not absolutely necessary.

Hello. I would like to learn Croatian because I have just learned I have family in Croatia and I want to be able to communicate with them (verbally). I understand a little, but would be considered a beginner. I have a family and other responsibilit ies so I am not sure how much time I could devote, perhaps 4 or 5 hours a week. Ideally, my teacher would be funny, encouraging and supportive, but also tough.

I am looking to learn Serbo-Croatia n. I use to speak the language fluently. through the years I have forgotten most of it. I have beginners knowledge, basics of grammar,readi ng,and some speech. I would like to become fluently in thelanguage because within the next few years I would like to return to Croatia. As well, it it vital that I teach my daughter.
I am looking to start as soon as possible. I am coming off maternity leave and resuming work as of nov.7. I will know within the next week what my schedule will be like. I am looking to have a in home tutor or someone that lives fairly close to me ( plateau area)that I can have lessons in their home.
