I do not speak Spanish or Catalan nor have I studied either. I do speak Italian as I have lived in Italy for over 20 years. I would prefer a teacher who speaks Italian to show me the differences and similarities between Italian and Catalan.
I am only interested in conversation for the week of October 16 when I will be in Barcelona. I want to be able to communicate at a basic level in shops, restaurants, taxis etc. For now I speak Italian which doesn't work so well in Spain. I would like a teacher who is flexible and can give me private lessons every morning for an hour or two in Barcelona over a morning coffee.
I could spend some time now learning a few basics on the internet via skype for example.
