I would like to learn to be able to communicate with my partner & his family. They are Chinese/Cambo dian but speak Khmer primarily since the birth of his niece. I know a few words, but that's all, so I am very much a beginner. I would be willing to dedicate a few hours a week to lessons, and of course practice each day.

Hello, my name is Nichole and my children are cambodian. My daughtor, who is nine, has become very interested in her culture and would like to learn khmer. I would like all of us (there is three in my family) to learn khmer. I do know a very limited amount of khmer, but we are all beginers. I would like to learn to speak, read, and write khmer. We would prefer to have lessons in person, however over the Internet or Postal Service is also exceptable.
The best time for us to take lessons in person would be on Saturday's or Sunday's after church. It would be a bonus for us if the Teacher could teach my children about there culture also.
I know that learning a new language takes time, even years and I am willing to put in the effort. I feel it is important for my children to know there heritage and to be able to pass it on to there children.
