My parter is Ethiopian and he's taught me some (I know the fidel and some basic phrases) but I am seeking more structure and consistency in my learning. I would like to learn Amharic for many reasons. First, we are going to adopt a son from Ethiopia and this is his language. He will be between 3 and 4 when he comes to live in the US and has a vocabulary of several hundred words. I want to be able to understand what he says and help him to retain his native language as he learns English.
S econd, I would like to be able to communicate with his current caregivers and with others as we travel in Ethiopia.

Me and my wife recently adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia and want to ensure that he grows up knowing where he came from (culture/lang uage). Not only that but I would like to learn the language as well so that we can learn together.
He is too young right now but I would like to get a heads start but not dedicate too many hours until he himself can learn with me.
