I believe that no one can truly learn a foreign language unless he/she is comfortable, therefore I strive to create a welcoming, non-judgmenta l environment where the student can actually enjoy language acquisition. I have an arsenal of techniques when teaching, not just reading and writing, but also songs, games, video clips, etc.

I worked for two years as a marketing writer for a consulting firm and have several textual examples students can parse and study for business-spec ific vocabulary. As a teacher of Latin, Greek and Spanish for the past five years, I have several grammar exercises I used with my students to aid them in better understanding English grammar before delving into the study of a foreign language. An avid reader of news I can easily converse on several topics and, being a teacher, know how to craft questions which prompt intelligent, easy discussion.

For the past five years I have worked as a middle and high school teacher (ages 11-18). I have taught Latin, Spanish, Greek, Greek and Roman history and Greek/Roman mythology. During this time I also served as a private tutor in all aforementione d fields.

What is your teaching schedule?
I, for the moment, am quite open to anytime and am willing to travel anywhere within Basel and its immediate environs. I can travel further by train if necessary.

I would expect payment upon the completion of each satisfactory session.
Can you speak German?
I can speak with proficiency and am working on fluency. I hope to soon take the Zertifikat Deutsch exam.
