Incredibly, scholars have found a way to teach an adult a second language without the time-consumin g and tedious memorizing of grammar rules and vocabulary. My first contact with the method I use to teach was as a student in England, then later as an instructor. My course is one-on-one interactive, so you start speaking in the first minutes of your first lesson. The concept is simple; teach you to speak a second language the same way you learned to speak your native language e.g., first hear and understand, repeat (speak), read and eventually write. I would say that 2 hours per week is the minimum if you really want to be fluent. In some programs they use the word "fast track", but I don't like that word. It makes the huge task of learning another language sound like you should be able to do it quickly, and it's proven that if you try to learn too fast, you will just as quickly forget! I focus on daily conversation because I think actual conversation is always the best way to improve. I do help people with grammar and that kind of stuff. Letting the conversation flow and then using the conversation itself in order to make the student understand that said grammar point in context.
